OUR STORY
We’re Joe and Keila - partners in art and in life.
Clucky Farm Studios is our creative home, and we want to share it with you. Yes, our professional soundstage is located on a real hobby farm with goats and chickens. Only minutes north of Burbank - you get the peace and quiet of rural living with the convenience of still being in LA county!
See below for more about us, and links to our portfolios if you want to collaborate on your next project.
We first connected in 2018 on a music video shoot where Joe was directing and Keila was the lead.
On set that day, an instant sense of play & creativity was sparked between us, and has continued to grow ever since.
Joe Rubinstein is a talented cinematographer, and a commercial / music video director. Past collaborators include The Pixies, The Flaming Lips, Collective Soul, and numerous indie artists. Joe began his career as the founder and CTO of Polite in Public, the world’s first high end, tech based, photo booth company and went on to found Digital Bolex, one of the most successful camera startups in recent history. The Digital Bolex project changed the way independent filmmakers create digital cinema, and Joe’s personal contributions are still being used today.
Joe’s first music video was on VHS tape in middle school - set to the iconic Bohemian Rhapsody. Later on, he became a photo studio lab technician and even taught photography classes to adults. Joe’s approach to film and photography is experimental, playful, and innovative. You can see more of his photo and film portfolio here.
Keila Dolle is a renaissance woman - an NYU-educated actor, comedian and filmmaker. Her passion is creating art that has a social impact. At age 9, Keila caught the entertainment bug when she performed in her first play - a vaudeville show at summer camp. Since then, she has honed her craft in commercials, TV, film, and on stage. Once she discovered comedy at UCB, Keila quickly learned how to film & edit so she could create sketch comedy videos. This decision opened up her world to step behind the camera as a director, producer, and editor.
Keila’s past film projects include Dancing Man the Documentary (featured on Good Morning America, the Today Show and other international news outlets) and We’ll Never Make It, an award-winning short film that is currently available on Amazon. She can usually be found performing stand up comedy around Los Angeles, playing with her rescue dog Coconut, or working on her next film project.
See her personal portfolio here or reach out to her on Instagram - she’s always on there!
